RADOnline's Roots
RADOnline was founded by an R.A.D Survivor in hopes of bringing change and inspiring community communication to facilitateunderstanding amongst the general community. He realized, the only way to inspire change and understanding was to stand up and talk about his story living and sufferer with R.A.D. He began speaking at adoption groups about his experiences with R.A.D. to help parents understand their own children.
With the help of some dedicated bloggers and community activists RADOnline was turned from a dream into a reality.
Soon after, the founder of RADOnline began a 55 mile walk from Cincinnati, Ohio to Dayton, Ohio over a 3 day span. This amazing journey was called "Walk For Adoption".
After this walk was completed, Michael decided he should start blogging about his experiences with R.A.D. The support for his blogs was overwhelming (and appreciated) and he knew he needed to do more. He could do more and would do more.
One Future At A Time (www.ofaat.org) was founded to bring the stories of R.A.D. to the general community to reduce the stigma's concerning R.A.D. With a successful development, Michael's efforts supported and still support families and their amazing stories of R.A.D. and the children that suffer from it.
Beginning a few months ago, Michael decided that he could do more. RADOnline was born out of the combinations of R.A.D. initiated programs that he had personally started and ran.
RADOnline from it's inception was designed to bring the ENTIRE R.A.D. community together to inspire positive change, healing, debate and communication. It accomplishes this goal through user driven content at the heart of it's operation. Other website's have tried to attain this goal but those sites have been one sided and rarely allow members to add media on the fly without a tremendous amount of restrictions.
RADOnline is different. We WANT your thoughts, opinions, blog's and R.A.D. resources! Post away! The message that you bring the rest of our community is what is keeping RADOnline a viable force in the R.A.D. online community. Along with strategic alliances with both non profits, bloggers and other R.A.D. portals, we are gaining both traction and attention in the community.
We CAN inspire change. We can stand in one voice to bring our communities closer together.
And we are, as a community making that step together.
